A MESSAGE OF PASSION AND COMPASSION FOR ALL E.Y.E.C YOUTHS, STUDENTS AND SPONSORS
Until now, we have been destroying our planet. We have been abusing it as if we
have a spare one. Our actions threaten about a million species – 1 in 8 – with
extinction. Good education, empathy for the living world and financial motivation
to divert of some of your excess earnings are a necessity to revive the environment
and biodiversity of this planet. We are caught up in a web of extensive chemical
use and spills, reliance on throw-away plastics and a life-style of excess fuel and
food consumption. If we fail to act now, future generations will ask, why did we
not act to save the Earth given all of the scientific evidence we have.
In this unique website, I combine the fundamental principles of chemistry, biology and physics to enable you to apply a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding how best to tackle our environmental problems. Yours is the future, one for over-coming the mistakes of our generation to prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems worldwide. I welcome you to learn from the experienced contributors and sponsors of this website. I welcome the collaboration with Prof. Ezekiel Okemwa of Technical University of Mombasa, a Nobel Laureate on Climate Change (2006) and former Director of Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. Together we hope to bring you a learning experience that will motivate you to take a direction in life that will always mitigate environmental and biodiversity destruction.
